Amazon recently launched their take on the private designer sample sale site, MYHABIT.com. MYHABIT, similar to Rue La La, Beyond the Rack, HauteLook, and ideeli, offers its members short-lived flash sales up to 60% off categories including women’s, men’s and children’s fashion and accessories.
So how does it compare to other sample sale sites? These sites usually carry the same brands and designers, with some exceptions. For example, Michael Kors and Steve Madden usually pop up on all sites, but high end designer brands, like Fendi and Burberry, are more frequently displayed on Beyond the Rack, and occasionally on Rue La La and HauteLook. Ideeli tends to favor more up-and-coming designers.
Within the last week, MYHABIT featured Muse, Jones New York, and Juicy Couture, all of which have been featured on other sites in the past. With designer brands being equal, MYHABIT looks to attract customers in other ways.
MYHABIT offers free shipping (and returns) on all orders, which puts it ahead of the other previously mentioned sites, all of which charge at least $7.95. MYHABIT’s sales also last for 72 hours, while its competitors usually last 48. With these advantages for MYHABIT, is it the clear winner of private designer sale sites?
Most of the time, the prices on the items featured on MYHABIT are difficult to beat. It is important to note, however, that price comparison is a must because an item may actually be cheaper somewhere else. But the length of the sales, combined with free shipping, make MYHABIT a great source for discounted designer items.
