I am dressing up as a cute witch…This costume includes a feather boa, feather witch hat, black dress, black stockings, Halloween socks, Black cape, and curled black shoes. My son (2) will be dressed up in a homemade Tow Mater costume. We are using 3 boxes attached to one another and spray painting them brown. Creating details as tow mater himself has. We are using a touch light for tow maters head light (as well as a safety device). My other son (11) will be dressing up as Mr. Money bags…also homemade. We are taking a burlap bag and tying it at the top with a string. Money will be spilling out from various holes in the bag and at the top (fake money of course). We love halloween in our home!
That is great Lynne! So great to hear you’re going the homemade route- that saves TONS! It really sounds like you have as much fun making the costumes as you will on Halloween day!
I was thinking of going as “Dirty Laundry” … that means cutting out the bottom of a laundry basket so I can wear it (about waist level), clothepinnining my shirt into it (so I can slip into my shirt and support the basket), and tucking in towels, socks, etc, along with ‘travel size’ Laundry Detergent and Fabric softener, a Mobster hat. How could I come with the song, “She’s got Dirty Laundry” blaring???
This idea is awesome, Susan! It seems very wallet-friendly too
I would really love to win
One year I dressed up like a witch and sat in a lawn chair. As the kids came up and said, “trick or treat”, I reached in their candy bag and grabbed a handful, then said that “I’m a mean witch I trick, I don’t treat!” The look on their faces made me wish I had a camera too!
Of course I gave it back + a good treat from me. The parents thought it was really funny!
We are both disabled now and can’t get up and down so I put a TV table outside by the door with a cute scarecrow basket filled with candy bars. I put a sigh saying TAKE ONE. The kids are really honest and only take one.
The last message should have said …I put a sign saying TAKE ONE.
Hoping to win a gift card
I hope to win
I am going as a witch. Did not dress last year and the kids were disappointed. They have been coming to the witch house for 20 years. I love Halloween. I want to win.
