My name is Stacey and I was looking through the Web for places that could help my with Christmas for my children. We lost their Dad a year and a half ago and I ampretty much bed bound with joint disease in my spine. My husband was the sole support for this family and for christmas last year my children told me to not get them anything for Christmas to just buy groceries and handed me their lists.I have twin boys that would make any Mother proud,I would love to be able to make this a very good Christmas for them for without some help they will have nothing under the tree this year.Thank you for your time in reading this and have a very Blessed holiday

  2. Donmonique Fitts says:

Hi Brad I have 5 kids and I’m a single parent my children haven’t had a good Christmas in 5 to 6 years because my bills come first so if I can’t make it happen for them no one else can’t either I know and pray things get better so they have hope and a brighter future. Thanks

  4. Debi Bainter says:

HI BRAD I’M SURE THERE ARE ALOT MORE NEEDY PEOPLE OUT THERE BUT i COULD USE THE CASH AN IT WOULD BE FOR MYSELF. 6 YEARS AGO I LOST MY RIGHT LEG FROM DIABETES. BUT, LAST YEAR I GOT SICK AN DYED 5 TIMES AN EACH TIME WITH ALL THE PRAYERS AN GREAT DR’S I WAS BROUGHT BACK AN SAVED . I’M NOT SURE WHY BUT GOD WILL TELL ME IN HIS OWN TIME!!! DURING THIS TIME I LOST MY LEFT LEG, MY KIDNEYS SHUT DOWN, AN A WHOLE BUNCH OF OTHER THINGS. THE REASON I COULD USE THE MONEY IS EACH TIME I GO IN OR OUT WITH MY WHEELCHAIR I’M SCRAPING MY HANDS AN I NEED TO GET THE DOORS ALL WIDENED AS THERE ARE 8.THE OTHER THING WHICH IS MORE LUXURY BUT WHEN I DO FEEL WELL AN ABLE TO TAKE A BATH I MUST TAKE IN MY LITTLE BATH AN IT ISN’T ENJOYABLE AS TO SMALL TO GET IN WITH WHEEL CHAIR AN TUB IS WAY SMALL AN MUST GET ON KNEES AN STUMPS AN IT MORE HURTS TO TAKE BATH THEN RELAXATION SO BATHES ARE INFREQUENT. SO THE REST OF MONEY WOULD GET US A NEW SHOWER IN BIGGER BATH WHICH COULD USE A CHAIR WITH OR IF WANT TO SIT ON FLOOR AS IT WOULD BE SO MUCH WIDER ! WELL i KNOW THIS IS WORDY SO WANT TO SAY THANK YOU SO VERY MUCH FOR ALL YOUR TIME IN READING THIS !!!! AND BLESSINGS TO YOU AND YOUR EMPLOYEES AN FAMILY

    • Daniel says:

      Brad,
I was going to ask for help as our family has had hard times with two surgeries and out of work. As I read this letter I realised that this lady needs more help than we do. If it helps at all, please help this person with her house. I belive that she needs the things that she has asked for more than ever.
PS Debi God bless you and may he hold you in his hands and protect you. My prayers are with you.

    • Lisa says:

      Dear Debi,

Have you looked into trying to get assistance from Disability Services? There is government money and there are foundations that may be able to help you with these home modifications. It helps if you know someone who will do the work at a reasonable rate, but either way,I would encourage you to look into this in whatever state you live. The funding is not always available, but they may be able to help.

  11. Laura says:

I would really like the money for my daughter for christmas she is 7 and her name is Mackenzie she is a huge monster high fan. Me and my husband were lucky enough to get married this summer before we both were laid off. I was lucky enough that I found a job at a day care fairly quickly making minimum wage while it took a while for my husband to find a job we lived soully on my income and stayed off Wellfair  because I made 5 dollars over the max you could make to receive help. My husband recently found a job but will not be receiving his first commission check till after Christmas. As it stands now we may not have one. It’s been hard on our little girl this year because we have had only enough money to pay bills and just survive to not have a Christmas would kill me and my husband. Please pick us so we can give her a Christmas

    Thank you

    Laura Macleod

  12. Sandra says:

I have be been a great follower of Bens for several years. As a disabled person I try to use every cent judiciously. I have recently been let go by me employer since I am unable to continue working a full 8 hour a day job. I have tried to remain in their employ working 4 hours a day which they accepted for about 10 months, and then just decided that was no longer acceptable. I am a senior with no living family to help me. I am the sole support of my two beautiful rescued Papillion dogs. They both had terrible lives before coming to live with me. One was just ignored (they did not have time for him) and one was in a puppy mill (had to have her teeth all removed since she tried to chew her way out of the mill cages, is blind in one eye, has many other frailties) They are my family now. Both my “kids” and I are in need of much medical help which is beyond my means now with out a job. While this may sound frivolous, when compared to other requests, to me and the “kids” this prize would be a gift of uncompromised use. We thank you.

    • jenn says:

Sandra, I too am a dog lover!! You said your employer got rid of you due to your disability and the fact that you are unable to work an 8hr day? I would suggest gettting an attorney as you may have a case for discrimination. Now, if you can only work a specific number of hours due to your disability income, that is a different thing……. Most attorneys will offers a free consultation, and will be willing to work on contingency, which means if you don’t win, they don’t win, thus no $ for them. Just a thought!

      • Ruth says:

Sandra, I was told by an attorney that a company does have the right to terminate a person not healthy to do their job. Her best bet would be to apply for Social Security disability. It took me 4 1/2 years to get mine approved and I was 66 by then, but they are much faster in approving people now.
I too have lots of problems, but others are lots worse than mine. My husband died 3 months ago and I lost 47% of our income. I have the same bills though and only have $230 a month to live on after paying the house, car, insurance and utilities. I have 3 cats, 2 dogs and 6 canaries and have had them since they were babies. I can’t get rid of them. The cats are all over 13 years old. BUT other people are worse off so I’m not asking for any thing. My children, grand and great grand children will have their family Christmas gifts and I told everyone this is the year I have to stop giving.

I would love for you to consider my daughter and her family as a recieprent. they are a military family stationed in Fort Riley kanas. My daughter is perhaps one of the strongest people I have ever met, Her husband was just deployed to afganistian this is his 3rd time away from his family for the holiday however she holds the family together while she herself is missing him. they have an 9 year old and she is currently expecting child #2 (a daughter ) in March which dad will not be home at birth for. She is also an Exchange student host parent (has hosted 4 students), She is highly active in her children’s lives between school activities, scouts , educational trips, and her church. I really believe her hard work, dedication and faithfulness to her family is deserving of this blessing, My God continue to bless you as you bless his people.

    • Michelle Hughes says:

Good morning Brad, god bless you for helping others this holiday season. I’m divorced with 5 children, my three daughters have been through so much tragedy this year. My two youngest daughters have been hospitalized multiple times due to bullying at their school. As a result they suffer with Anxiety and major depressive disorder and were sexually assaulted by their bdiological father. My oldest daughter was struck by a car back in January, she sustained multiple injuries and is in a wheelchair. I would like to give them a good Christmas after everything they’ve been through this year.

      Thank you
      Michelle

urn off my electricity, all I could pay was $50

      • Melissa says:

this just broke my heart. please see what you can do to, at least, help turn electricity back on.

        • Melissa says:

I know there are state run organizations that can help you: some only once a year, others may be able to help more. Start with public assistance, they’ll have a list of organizations that offer help for everything from a food bank, utility assistance, rental assistance, counseling services, & more… Salvation Army is a great resource for either locating help or providing help (remember these are helps up, not helps out, & you can & will be an amazing future provider of strength & support for your children & they will learn from your example & it sounds like you’re trying to set a good example). Good luck & God Bless!

We have 3 daughters 12,11&6.Few yrs ago I got very sick from staph infection in my spine that my drs misdiagnosed for 6 months.Thank god after 8 months of IV antibiotics,I was able to overcome the infection but I am now missing 2 discs which make it very hard to stand for any amount of time.So we depend on my fiance’s income only, which isn’t much.We struggle paycheck to paycheck & dont have $ for any extras.I would love to be able to buy my kids all the things their friends have & have a Christmas they’ll never forget.I feel a little greedy even submitting this request, since we are very fortunate to have our health which is more than alot of people, but my kids are absolutely amazing & they deserve so much more than I am able to provide. Thank you for this opportunity.

Good evening and God Bless.  I was getting ready to delete this e-mail thinking I had already read want I needed but just before hitting the delete button I came across this contest. I normally don’t enter contest but this time I felt like I should.  I am enter this on behalf of my sister Maira this year has really been a hard one for her. She was hospitalize for 3 months due to her high risk pregnancy in which she was able to delivery her 33 weeks baby boy.  Months after recovering and then losing her job she found herself collecting unemployment and trying to raise of family of 5.  Now that the Christmas holiday is fast approaching I know she worries she will not be able to purchase gifts for her children.  I found her in tears the other day as her six year old son was telling her what he wanted for Christmas, his to little to understand what she is going through.
Her ex husband refuses to pay child support and she is a constant struggle to make end meet.  Please consider her for this contest it would truly be a great Blessing to her and the children.

    Thank you,

    Hello Brad,

how kind of you to spread the wealth. And so does generously in their own way is the organization I would like to nominate for your annual give away.

I would like to nominate Womens’ Studio Workshop, http://www.wsworkshop.org . Started as a vision by four college girls in 1974 and now operates and maintain an artists’ workspace that encourages the voice and vision of individual women artists, to provide professional opportunities and employment to artists at all stages of their careers, and to promote programs designed to stimulate public involvement, awareness and support for the visual arts.

Artists are invited to work at WSW as a part of Fellowship Program, Artists’ Books Grants, Residencies, Internships, or to learn new skills in WSW’s Summer Arts Institute and community workshop series. Through WSW’s doors have passed hundreds of struggling artists and children from local schools that are invited to participate in workshop and art education.

    Thank you for your consideration.

  25. Cindy says:

Dear Brad, I would like to have this opportunity to win this for my nieces and nephew. My husband and I have 5 kids and are lucky enough to have a job and a roof over our head even though we still struggle sometimes as well but I have twin neices that are 18 another one that is 15 and an 13 yr old nephew. They’ve had a rough life and even though we try to help as much as we can it isn’t alot. Their mom left them years ago due to she had a problem with drugs and alchol and that took over her life and now recently their dad has been sent to prison because he had an alchol problem as well and got a DWI and is now serving up to 5 yrs. One of the twins works two jobs just to pay the light and water bill and struggles to do that. She also takes care of the other two kids while still going to school full time trying to graduate high school. You see my wish is to give them a wonderful Christmas with all of the hurt and struggling times they’ve been through because they didn’t ask for any of this and definatly don’t deserve it. Even though my niece is 18 she’s still a young girl that has had her life as a kid taken away only to have to grow up to take care of her siblings and I’m proud of her for that it just hurts so much when they all deserve so much more. Thanks for your time and opportunity to be able to submitt my letter. Happy Holiday’s to you all.

Which I can’t because I’m too sick to work.. Maybe I will win.. Soo cool… Thank you Vincent E. Lucas IV, 80 Jordan Ave, Cranston Rhode Island, 02910 401 347-5085

Fortunately for my family we are in much better shape then a lot of the people in the posts. I am just an unemployed family man with two young boys that would love for them to have a “normal” Christmas. Money is very tight here as is everywhere. I have learned in the past two years, if you need help you need to ask. Well I need all the help I can get. Happy holidays to all and good luck and better fortunes to the people on this blog.

  31. garlicmomma says:

wow. i am thinking you need donations to some of these people. I don’t know how you will choose. I was going to nominate my great niece whose husband had been to Iraq twice, returned home and passed away last week. She now has a 2 year old and an 8 year old and was in school but may have to pull out because of this. then there will be no way to increase support to the family. Somehow helping her out with a boost might help her stay in school.

  32. Jennifer F. says:

    Dear Brad,
I am a single mother of two who is a laid of Correction Officer and I will be with out any income when my unemployment stops on December 29,2012 along with many people. However I believe
We would like to help a Mother with 3 disabled children make it through this Holiday Season with a little help and kindness so they know they are not alone in their continuing struggles.
This family has endured tremendous heartaches and obstacles, with the passing of her oldest son a few years ago, another son is in a wheelchair, and her third son has epileptic seizures which leaves him with 24 hr nursing care, and her youngest son just battled thru a rare cancer last year and is in physical therapy now. Just imagine all of this on a motherlding it all together alone.
Now, on top of all these struggles, a couple of months ago, a drunk driver drove his SUV thru their home, thankfully no one was injured. Now forced to live outside the comforts of their familiar surroundings this Holiday Season, with three disabled children to take care of, we can’t even imagine the burden on her plate. A Mother Juggling Work, Dr appts., Physical therapy, with help from no one. Her regular bills falling behind and nothing left for Christmas gifts. She always puts forth a smiling face for her children, so with your help this could possibly be a life changer for her and her children.
She is the strongest woman we know, she barely sleeps, thinks of herself last, puts her children first, in a lifestyle that some of us maybe would never be able to handle! We wish we could take the pain away or just make it a little easier for them this Holiday Season with a miracle that would bring some relief from the stress. But the reality is we can’t do it alone, we can however try to get the word out and try to help her give her children a Very Special Christmas which they desperately deserve. And possibly, at the same time give her a little breathing room from the stress, and a chance to get caught up a little. So we are asking everyone, please help us help them!
Please help us make their dream of Christmas come true.
    Thank You!

Brad- your website and blogs are fabulous! I get the daily notifications and have saved so much money over the best few years. Thank you! I would like to enter your contest because I have a seventeen year old young lady who is staying with me and my daughter. She is very forthcoming. I want to share her story to see if you may be able to assist in helping. Amanda was born to a mentally-challenged woman. The mom tried to drown Amanda in the bathtub when she was young. The father took her away and they lived wherever they could for a few years. (Dad is a full-time truck driver). Dad married when Amanda was young, but with dad gone, the new step-mom wasn’t very nice. She sold Amanda for drugs and Amanda was raped when she was only 7 years old. Unfortunately, Dad never believed Amanda when she told him about the beatings and the abuse until one day when he came home unexpectedly and saw his wife beating her with a belt. They left, but Dad still had to work, so Amanda started staying with friends when she was 11 years old. She has been from house to house since then. She found out this year that her mom has passed away. In July, she found out she had a sister from her mother. The sister is two years older and she was taken away from mom before Amanda was born. Her mom put her in a dryer and just watched as she tumbled. She talked to her sister in July, but is not sure she wants to get close. She doesn’t know how important family really is, because she has never really had one. Then, last weekend, her cousin (who attends the same school) decided to take his own life. He was only 13. Life hasn’t been easy for her, but she is very strong. She is getting straight A’s in school, is on the school’s dance team, is the head cheerleader, and is on the basketball team. She wants to go to college and is in the bedroom at this moment looking for scholarships for next year. I don’t have much, but I want to make sure she feels like she is a part of the family. For Christmas, I want to get her a laptop so she can succeed in school. She could also use new dance shoes and athletic shoes. Any help would be appreciated, but the competition is incredible this year. I want to thank you for considering my request and for helping others this holiday season. Have a wonderful holiday.

Hi Brad, there are so many deserving people out there but I am asking not only for my children who have for reasons I would rather not disclose have had a horrendous struggle this past year. I moved my family to a very very small town going from about 300,000 to a population of about 400. Not only am I thinking this wonderful gift for my children but all the children in my town could be blessed by this. As you drive down the main street you can see the brokenness of the town and the sadness in the children beyond their control. To see joy and hope reach so many of their precious faces, if only for a moment, would be a miracle. Please help me spread joy throughout the tiny community. I know we could.
    Thank you so much!
    God Bless

My wish is for my son Michael Harry. Michael was diagnosed with a brain tumor in 2000. In 2010 he was operated on for the 3 rd time. 6 months later he was diagnosed with esophageal cancer. After losing 50 lbs, and undergoing grueling treatments, he is now better but still fighting lymph problems. The thing is… His wish is to go to nursing school, so that he may pass on his empathy, knowledge and above all his “grace” to those in need- a kind of “teach a man to fish” kind of way. Michael’s only true wish is to give to others, the gift of himself
    Thank you

I just wanted to submit this for my family and I. I read all the stories above and know a lot of people need help this year, but I could also use the help. I will not write my sad story on here but I have 3 children of my own and could really use this. Without this I don’t know if they will have one. I normally don’t enter anything but i figured this wouldn’t hurt to try. I just want to tell everyone out there to just hang in there and keep your faith. Whoever you choose I know that they will be great full for the help. To Brad Thank You for thinking of all the people out here that could use your help not everyone would do what you are doing. So Have A Merry Christmas and A Happy New Year.

    Brad,
I am nominating my sister because she has experienced a traumatic ordeal that has been lingering for a few years. In October of 2011 her 15 year old son was diagnosed with blood clots in his lungs. His body nor medicine dissolved the clots, so to prevent his heart from giving out- they had to schedule surgery on July 9th, 2012. The surgery did not go as planned.they were not able to get all the clotting from the right lung and then the left lung collasped, they called it a reprofusion injury. My nephew layed on life support for 2 months. He was a Ecmo machine which is a heart and lung bypass machine. My died 3 times and was revived. They were ready to pull the plug whe one doctor decided to put him in the prone positioning.. That seemed to work. It was just him laying on his belly. It took the weight off his heart, off the left lung and allowed it to rise up and down. Then they ordered him a roto prone bed. This bed left my nephew on his belly.. From that point it took 3 weeks for his lungs to come back to life. Then afterward my nephew had to go several different therapies. He had not walked in 3 months and lived in a induced coma throughout most of this.. He also experienced seizures from anoxic brain damage which was caused from the lack of oxygen to the brain when he died those 3 times. He also neuropathy from laying int he roto prone bed and this caused his kidney to fail and which caused increased swelling of his body. A this time he was diagnosed with ARDS (acute respitory distress syndrome) which caused his kidneys to fail and his liver to be elevated. My nephew is lucky to be alive. The therapist told my sister patients do not usually make it once placed on the roto prone bed. I feel my sister deserves this wish because she has experienced so much grief ,trauma and heartache. She sat in the hospital everyday day in and day out and never left my nephews side. She lost her job,she lost her vehicle, she was given minimal assistance while he was in the hospital. She also has a daughter who is 7 and really does not understand what happened.. My nephew left the hospital October 4,2012 and she took a job through a temp service just to pay her rent and make ends meet. My sister and her children deserve a blessed Christmas..She has already told her children that Santa will not make it her house this year and the seven year old just does not understand..I try to help out as much as possible but I have a family also..all information is true.. My nephew Zachary Isaac was admitted into Children’s Hospital, Columbus, Ohio on July 9th 2012 and discharged October 4 th 2012. The biggest part of his stay was on the 4th floor Cardiac/Theurastic ICU ward. His surgeon was Dr.Patrick O’Connell. His cardiologist is Dr.Ali Saidi. The hemo doctor is Sarah O’Brien..
Thank you for taking the time to read my story and consider helping my sister..

Dear Santa (i.e. Brads Deals and all those bloggers who might vote for me),

They say if you don’t believe he doesn’t come so this year i am believing and sending off my wishlist. I am a 35 yewar old mother of five boys ages 9,8,6,5, and 1+( for all those wondering yes I have figured out how it works and no am not planning on trying for a girl lol). My husband and I spiit after I became pregnant with my last child and the divorce was final last week in case anyone was wondering. So now I am a single mother of five boys. During our split I was in school full time and working part time doing private duty in home nursing for an elderly woman. Sadly she passed quickly after our split and I was stuck between a rock and a hard place. I had actually just started a nursing program for my RN ( if you don’t know, nursing school is not easy to get accepted into and once you start a program you have to finish it or start the whole application process again and start back at square one) so I had to make some tough decissions.Up to this point in my life my skills mainly consisted of waitressing, which would be kind of hard to suport my family for a lifetime on without being dependent on some kind of assistance, but my first option was to quit school and find a job full time in order to keep my house. Option number two was to suck it up and ask my parents to move back into their house with my five kids so that I could finish school. I don’t know if there were other options but those were the two I came up with. I really never wanted to be dependent on anyone so I went with option two…and here we are almost two years later and I graduated school this past may through a lot of support of family extended family and friends, took my state boards this summer and became an RN (real nurse hahaha lol). I found full time work this fall and have been working as much as possible and saving money in order to get out of my parents ( which i think couldn’t come fast enough for all parties involved if anyone has ever been in that kind of prediciment before). So just landed a house for my boys and I, YAY, so excited the morning I signed for it (just a rental but a place I can call home for my family) just to be knocked back that afternoon by finding out the facility I am working for is closing and I will be out of a job. Its ok, don’t feel bad, I am not out of work yet and we are not closed yet….I will definatly find something else and actually have an interview someplace later this week…as Donna Sommers said…I will survive :) !!!!!

Ok so now everyone has a little backround about me and my family lets get back to the spirit of Christmas and whats really on my wishlist. I want to give my children the traditional Christmas I grew up having with all the falalalala and deck the halls. It starts with breakfast with Santa which they have down the street at the local church (its not the church we attend but it is really a nice breakfast) they have pancakes and all the kids get pictures but its not free as it is a fundraiser. Next on the list its off to pick out a christmas tree, bring it home set it up. Next onto our first trip to the grocery store, this trip is for all the stuff to bake christmas cookies( which seems to be getting more expensive every year and oh yeah think I should win on the sole fact of taking five kids into grocery store and having them behave lol). So now we have decked the halls baked cookies and Christmas is getting closer and closer and this little elf needs to start working on those real Christmas lists.

So here is the real deal, and all that other stuff is great, but truth is I have five young kids who really do believe in Santa. As you read earlier my oldest is nine and I have a funny feeling that this will be the last year that all my kids believe. So my wish is to fill theirs, so they can come down the stairs and see the most spectacular tree filled with gifts that were on their list ( unlike me when I was six and for some reason my four year old brother got a cabbage patch kid and I didn’t….most devistating Christmas ever, I think I have been scared for life). And what say are on those childrens lists that have no idea their broke Mom is really Santa? Lets see, 9 and 8 year old both want a kindle fire as well as a dirtbike, ninjago’s, tech decks, blayblades and monsoonos ( whatever that stuff is ), the six year old wants a wii and the five year old is asking for a spiderman web shooter….ummm where do I find that? The one year old really will only be into the wrapping paper so his wishlist is consisting of a new carseat a big box of diapers and some music making lights going off give mommy a headache kind of toy I am sure.

So I would like to foward the holiday cheer even further. As you read earlier I had a lot of support getting to the point I am at now. First and foremost to my parents I would like to give them something nice maybe a nice over night trip somewhere. Second getting back to kids….my Aunt who helped babysit often and helped me so much get though school as well has recently taken in two foster children who are 12 and fifteen. She was told that their was going to be no help for Christmas and she was pretty much on her own…so for these children I would like to get their wishlist from my Aunt and help her fill it as well as getting something great for my Aunt and Uncle.

There is my Christmas list Brads Deals. YOu would bring Holiday cheer to many people by choosing me as your grand prise winner or any winner would be greatly appreciated.

    Sincelely,

Kelly and family P.S. I think I might have actually sent this before I was done writing so I hape it doesn’t count as two entries please please please :)
