Summer hasn’t called it quits yet, so there’s still time to get outside and enjoy a last minute adventure.
This Sunday is the National Park Service’s birthday and entrance to national parks will be free of charge. While some national parks are always free to the public, the 100+ parks that normally charge an entrance fee will also be free for the day. Find a park near you and start planning your Sunday Funday!
The National Park Service has been around since 1916, helping to protect and preserve the parks and all of the wildlife that inhabits them. The NPS plays a vital role in ensuring that these natural landmarks will be around for generations to come through the generosity of volunteers and local communities.
Please note that fee waiver includes: entrance fees, commercial tour fees and transportation entrance fees. Additional fees such as reservation, camping, tours, concession and fees collected by third parties are not included unless stated otherwise.
