Free Shipping Day Promotions

Online stores use Free Shipping Day to lure in last-minute shoppers.

You won't find it on any 12-month calendar full of adorable kittens, but today is Free Shipping Day. It began once upon a time when online retailers sought to promote the last day you could order something with ground shipping and still have it delivered before Christmas. The funny thing is, Free Shipping Day is no longer the "last day" to order. Every year that deadline gets pushed forward, as online shopping increases in popularity and shipping companies grow more efficient to meet demand. Check out our master list of the 2011 Holiday Shipping Deadlines for the top online shops.

For the most part, we here at Brad's Deals think Free Shipping Day is a bit of a gimmick. After all, a real deal finder knows you should be getting free shipping all the time (hint, hint, retailers). The thing that really irks us about many of the Free Shipping Day "promotions" is that they require a minimum order, which doesn't count as free shipping in our book! We've assembled an awesome list of 37 Stores with Free Shipping to help you find those year-round shipping deals.

Even though Free Shipping Day isn't as huge a deal as some stores would have you believe, there are a few good offers to be found. Here's a round-up of our favorites from today.
