Military Discounts From 230+ Stores & Services

There is no way we can ever properly thank members of the US Military for all that they have done. They are certainly not paid enough for their work and their great sacrifice. Iraq and Afghanistan have been particularly tough and stressful for members of the military, their families and loved ones. Military Discounts

We have found 160 195 199 over 200 stores and services doing their part to make life easier by offering discounts to active, reserve, and retired members of the US Military and their immediate family members.  Please help spread the word via Facebook, Twitter and Email to those you know in the military about this resource. If you have additional suggestions please comment below and they'll be added on an ongoing basis. For veterans of Iraq or Afghanistan, please check out IAVA. Members there are offered vouchers to many retail stores, such as JC Penney.

Two important caveats.  First, some stores offer discounts only at the owner's discretion and other discounts vary by state.  Second, many stores that give a military discount don't advertise it.  It is always worth asking a store whether they have one or not and to have your military ID on you.

570 Responses to “Military Discounts From 230+ Stores & Services”

  1. Does any of this apply to Canadian Veterans who served overseas during the Cold War (Kennedy era) who have military ID and shop often at many of these stores.

    • That is a good question. Most likely at stores in the United States military discounts only apply to US Military members. It never hurts to try though. Usually stores will ask to see your ID but if they don’t have any sort of system where they have to enter your information, then the cashier may be able to give it to you anyways.

  2. William says:

Firestone Auto Centers also gives 10% all the time.

  3. gfgayle says:

Hancock’s Fabric gives a 15% discount to military (with valid ID) on the second Wednesday of each month, in store only.

Hint: For those 55 and over there is also 15% discount on the first and third Wednesday of each month, in store only.

My wife and I are in the market for a shed. Found an 4′ depth X 8′ width for $499.99 at Sears. Since we received a discount from Home Depot yesterday, we decided to call Sears today and found out they provide 10% Military discount as well. so add that to your list. Does not hurt to ask.

  7. Willie G says:

Just left Sears Department Store and was informed by the Sales Clerk the 10% discount is only valid when purchasing tools. We explained that isn’t what we were told by customer service over the phone. Since we were told that she had to obtain permission from management. She called and explain the situation from the information we were provided and management approved the 10% with an additional 5% for using the Sears Card. Worked out more than well for us in the end. Thank you Sears.

  18. Ilene says:

Sam’s club does offer a $15 gift card to spend at their store, to those who join the club. But we were informed at the store and by email That ONLY applies to active duty and retired. Disabled Veterans can NOT get this unless they retired from one of the branches of service. Seems to me the Disabled Vet could use all the help they can get, but that is not Sam’s Club way of thinking.

  19. Martha says:

    • Kefira Zink says:

Subway told us their discount/free food was only for service members of all types (I.e. firemen police e.m.t. and military) in uniform while on duty, so on their lunch break only.

  23. Kefira Zink says:

Claire’s and Deb both give military discount. One is 10% one is 20% but I forget which is which. Claire’s us national with signs in the stores saying “we love the military” but I think Deb is store by store and you have to ask. Both just present I.D.

  24. Kenneth says:

There is a simple way to almost guarantee military discounts from retailer, the larger the company the better the response. Send an email to their corporate headquarters tell the president of each company that if their support of the United State’s military is good for them, it is not good for us either. We simply will not shop their any more. No BS about discounts may vary, you have to be in uniform, it is up to the store owner, etc. Either you like our business or you won’t have to worry about it.

This will only work if everyone send something to the corporate hq., think of them like the trick mule, first you must get their attention.

  25. Susie says:

My husband is a disabled veteran can I use his I’d card or do I need my own

What is defined as Military ID?. Is a DD214 considered a Military ID?

I read somewhere else that Home Depot and Lowe’s only offers veteran discounts on Memoral Day, 4th July and Veterans Day. All other days the discount is to active, retired, and disabled veterans.

    Very confusing !

Thank You This is great we owe a life time of Thank You to every one who has been in the US Military! For veterans of Iraq or Afghanistan I am not trying to take anything away from what you have been throw and done for everyone! I can not Thank You enough. My father was a POW and my husband was in the army.I think the discount should be active , retired, disabled and veterans. They went throw a lot and I think we should say thank you to them too no matter what war. Brad I think you should show this to these stores. We have gotten a discount from a lot of these stores but they all should give discounts to the women and men who put there life on the line for ALL of us.

      Thank You

I have never had a problem at Lowe’s with my retired card. I used to work for Lowe’s and the policy was 10%. Home depot has never given me a problem with discounts at the 2 stores I live near, even for tool rentals. I have heard some stores that don’t, but I think the corporate policy is active, guard, reserve and retired.

Home Depot and Lowes offers a 10% discount all the time for military, Veterans and Active Duty but you 1) have to ask and 2) show military ID. I know because my husband uses his all the time at both stores and he is inactive reserves. A military ID is your military ID card. For more info go to the company’s website or call your local store.
