Since many senior discounts are not advertised to the public, our advice to men and women over 55 is to ALWAYS ask a sales associate if that store provides a senior discount. Also, please note that some senior discounts vary by region. That way, you can be sure to get the most bang for your buck.

Wouldn’t it be nice to have a calendar with these listed on the dates they are happening. Maybe something we can save to our own calendar to add as events.

Just a suggestion. Oh, another suggestion – a contact link for these stores – so we can ask what participation is available in our own locations.

Thanks, kudo’s to the one who worked hard on putting this list together!

  2. Dawn Jackson says:

Dunkin donuts does not offer free coffee to people 55+. They give a free donut if you show your AARP card and buy a large or extra large coffee.

Goodwill in Tallahassee Florida discontinued senior discounts. They were popular and previously offered on Tuesday. Don’t know if this is specific to our city or applies to all Goodwills.

  5. Jennifer says:

Kmart said that it is up to the local store if they offer a senior program or not. The ones in GA so far do not.

    For a fleeting moment, I wished I was 55+ instead of 50+.

    • Meme007 says:

Don’t blink, Sue!! You will be 55 before you know it. And 60 even faster. Make the most of your life in an enjoyable way and savor the good times. (You do qualify for AARP, by the way.)

FYI; Walgreen’s is now 20% off on Walgreen’s brand and national brands d on senior day for regularly priced items. No discount on sale items.

  19. donna says:

This is a great list with a lot of info.Diane, Please leave politics out of it, that has nothing to do with the subject .

  20. Michele says:

Michael’s (Arts & Crafts) offers 10% discount for AARP membership. Actually, where I am, all I have to do is ask for it. One of their employees said “we figured if you know to ask for it and are willing to say you’re 50+, you deserve the discount.” Uh…thanks?

    • ennairam says:

You mean you’d *rather be carded*?
On discount day at Harris Teeter, I gladly accept the senior discount if the cashier thinks I’m 60…and I still have 4 years to go!

  21. RO says:

Brad’s Deals lists Bed Bath and Beyond as having a senior disc with their mailing club. I phoned their 800# and was told that that disc cannot be stacked with their 20% cpn. This doesn’t seem sensible to me as who would use the 10% disc when a 20% one is easily available? Could the operator be wrong?

  22. Rebecca says:

WTOP radio has “Friday Freebies” and other deals.
They are local to Washington, DC area.
    http://www.wtop.com/1236/3152520/WTOP-Freebies
I love the freebies for everyone as I am under 55.
7-11 has there free (small) slurpee on July(7) 11 every year!
Rita’s Italian Ice has free Italian Ice on the first day of Spring (usu

  23. Becky says:

Bed, Bath & Beyond does not offer a senior discount. I just asked today.

  24. Thomas says:

I’d like to see a couple of things added:

    1. Employee pricing for vehicles (It’s already available for “employed” but, apparently not
yet for retirees. That would be a great benefit, yielding substantial saving!
    2. Microsoft offers a complete “Office” suite for something like $19.95 (plus $10 if you want
a CD/DVD as backup) to employees. It would be great if that could be offered to retirees
    as well.e

Thank you in advance for checking into those.

  25. Scarlet says:

YOUR statement has M E A N all ove it.
Shame on you with that MOUTH of yours!
