For all of the time, dedication, and selflessness U.S. Military veterans, active duty members, reservists, and retirees have given to our country, they deserve a really great day of recognition and celebration. So, we've compiled all of the best freebies and deals for veterans to take advantage of this year.

Most of these freebies and deals will require proof of military service. This can be a U.S. Uniform Services ID card (active, reserve, or retired), current Leave and Earnings Statement, photograph in uniform, come wearing uniform, veterans organization card (American Legion or VFW), DD214, discharge paperwork, etc. Some establishments may not ask for proof, but come prepared just in case. Also, to play it safe, call ahead before redeeming your freebie or deal since not all locations will be participating.

Also, remember that appreciation for the troops doesn't begin and end with Veteran's Day. Check out our list of military discounts that are available year round.
