Mike — A year ago I got a great deal on a Dell netbook. The service warranty was for a year and surprisingly exactly one year later a software bug popped up and now the thing is a piece of junk. I tried calling Dell and after they transferred me 6 times and used up all of my cell phone minutes they wanted me to buy their service plan for another year. I refuse to pay 25% of the purchase price for "Dell Services" because they bug their own computers and want to milk me for every dime. So my advice is buyer beware. I don't appreciate Dell's crappy customer service from a bunch of lazy overpaid nerds who can barely speak proper English.

Brad from BradsDeals — Mike, that's no good. Sorry to hear. For future reference, I highly recommend making all big purchases with a credit card that offers warranty extensions. I got saved when my TV did the same thing yours did and the factory warranty was only 12 months but American Express doubled it to 24 and literally bought me a new TV!
