25,000 Points with AmEx Platinum Card
Get 25,000 membership rewards points when you spend $2,000 on a new American Express Platinum Card within 3 months of signup. The points are worth $500 or more if well-used. I recommend having a Platinum card not necessarily for spending but for the rich benefits. Use it like a BradsDealer and you can easily derive $1,000+ in value. For example, the 25,000 points, the $200 credit against airline fees and the free airport lounge access for American, Delta and US Air are worth over $1,000 alone, which easily justifies the $450 annual fee. Three notes: 1) you can enter a US Air lounge without a boarding pass so you don't need to fly them to use the lounge; 2) there is a similar 25,000 point offer on the Platinum Business card via this link; 3) you can add three people for $175 (less than $60 each) and each cardholder gets to share your airport lounge access and select other benefits, a rare and very inexpensive option.
