Restaurant.com is taking 80% off dining certificates via code LEAP today only in honor of leap day. This drops the price of a $25 gift certificate, normally $10, to $2, or a $25 gift card that is regularly $15, to $3. They have a large selection of participating restaurants nationwide (more than 18,000), and you can search by zip code or neighborhood. Be sure to read the fine print for each restaurant, because they all set their own spend thresholds and exclusions such as alcoholic beverages, weekends, or holidays. (Instructions »)

Guest — Jillian, I would love for you to qualify your comment. The tip we would leave anyway so I would love to hear your explanation as to why you feel saving $23 on a $35 meal is ridiculous. What is the percentage off on a deal that you would consider not ridiculous? 90%? 100%? I am sure you are no longer on this site to even see this, right? Because why would you still be on a site that obviously cannot meet your threshold of savings? That is too bad since I would have loved to hear why you feel this is ridiculous.

Guest — @jillian---So you have to spend $35.00, then your certificate will take $25.00 off that total, bringing your amount owed to $10.00. So you would rather just pay the whole $35.00 yourself ????? Who is the ridiculous one here? As far as the gratuity goes, you really should be tipping on the full amount anyway. If this still sounds ridiculous to you, you can't be pleased...

Guest — I use these coupons as often as I can. Even with the tip (which I would leave anyway), it is just a great deal. Most restaurants will include alcohol as well (be sure to check the fine print). When these coupons are $2 it is just a steal. I really don't see riduculous...

Allyson1961 — I would like to add that twice now I have tried to use a certificate purchased from restaurants.com and the restaurants have refused to honor them. Both said they had requested numerous times to be taken off the site, but that they never are. My advice is that you check with the particular restaurant you are interested in before you purchase the voucher just to make sure they will accept it. When it works, it's an amazing deal. But when it doesn't, it's very frustrating and you owe for the whole meal.

Kathy Pownall — Allyson1961 - I have only used these a few times but haven't had any trouble - I always show the server the certificate BEFORE I order so if there's a problem I have the option to get up and leave - I would also contact Restaurants.com and make them aware of your problem and ask for a refund. It may only be $2-$5., but they should be made aware of it, why should you get stuck with something you can't use, through no fault of your own, no matter what the cost?
