This is a question I get a lot. The answer: yes, via a few pretty good ways. One is at Amazon, where most iBooks, PowerBooks, MacBooks, etc. are $100-$200 below the Apple.com price (sometimes b/c of a rebate), in addition to not having sales tax (which can save another $100-$200). Another is via the Apple Education store where students, faculty or staff of almost any US school (if you aren't, have someone who is buy it for you) can save 5-15% off Apple retail price (not including iPods). Also, the refurbished section of Apple.com often cuts prices 25% or more, all with the same warranty provided for new items.
