For a limited time, sign up for the Chase Sapphire Preferred Card, spend $3000 in the first 3 months, and you get your choice of $400 cash back, or $500 towards airline tickets. The $500is particularly lucrative and ranks up there with the best credit card bonuses currently available. After that, the Sapphire earns you two Ultimate Rewards points for every dollar spent on dining or traveling, and Chase adds a 7% bonus onto your point balance at the end of each year. There are no foreign transaction fees, and the annual fee is waived for the first year.

DawnM — So easy to get to $3,000 in 3 months. Groceries, electric bill, I went ahead and paid my auto insurance for 6 months in advance, and paid extra on my cell bill. We use Costco for our grocery shopping, but you can purchase Costco gift cards online and use those, so there is a way to use CC for Costco. What I do not see in the fine print is how long you have to keep this card. Is there a minimum? We plan to cancel before the $95 annual fee comes around for the 2nd year.
