Rich Wilson — I ordered 2 of these when the deal was first on, and so far got one $25 cash card as well. Still waiting for the other, but I bought it at the end of the period so I'm not worrying. Very little work, and ZERO cash out (other than the $200 for a $200 cash card). This one is a no brainer!

Dmw819 — On the amex site, the details say: "An adult over the age of 18 may order and manage up to three American Express Prepaid Cards in total (including if one is purchased for him/herself). Each American Express Prepaid Card User can have only one Card in his or her name."

Rich Wilson — Yes. There is a single account (you) who buys the (up to) three cards. Single name and address and account. That account can buy three cards each for a different person (including yourself). e.g. I bought one card for me (with my name on it) and one for my wife (with her name on it). All paid from my account. I suspect the idea is to promote pre-paid cards for college students and the like.

KeriRae — I've opened 3 Amex card accounts to receive special bonuses (a separate $25 free prepaid card, a free $45 prepaid card and then another $25 free prepaid card). I've poured $1,000 trying to get any of their great deals but not one worked. Even after looking online, calling their only 1 number for customer service (which is a total joke), I never received jack. After this last time, I used all the money to pay my bills and anything else just to get my balances back to $0.00. I will spend every cent. I'm hoping they'll end up wasting as much time and energy as I have just trying to get things rolling. (When setting up a new card, the website wouldn't show my ATM pin. After 20 minutes on hold, the rep said I would have to wait 30 DAYS until I'd be able to view my PIN online again. The pin really isnt necessary after all. The number I called was the same as the one you'd have to call to have your PIN changed. It makes no sense!)

KeriRae — By the way, I ordered 1 card for a friend and then 2 more when they ran the last special. I did everything right but I haven't received any dime from Amex. Why do they keep running these specials? This is the 4th in the last 6 months. It seems too good to be true and some people are probably going to get hurt/lose money. Maybe that's enough money to give them reason to keep offering the special prepaid cards?

KeriRae — If they have a social and cell number, you could probably get them one. Parents do this for students all the time. I personally, don't think they'd notice. If they did, you'd just get the money back w/out penalties. That's just my personal opinion though.

Cindy Ross — If you have a relative or friend who would share information with you, you could get one in their name and then use it when you buy gas or a purchase where you are not carded (or find a fee-free ATM to withdraw the $200!)
