Amex Platinum Business Card Adds Free In-Flight Wifi
The American Express Platinum card is one of the most highly-regarded cards out there for frequent travelers, and those with the business version of the card just got good news this week: 10 free Gogo In-Flight internet passes per year.
That's right: the benefit is only for holders of the business version of the Platinum
card. At $16 per session, this is a $160 benefit. This further distances the business version from the personal version of the card. In addition to the free Gogo passes (which will be coming "sometime in 2015"), you also have the option to receive a 20% discount on travel when you "Pay with Points," making these points worth at least 1.2 cents per dollar. Furthermore, the business Platinum is a part of the Amex OPEN program, giving you a discount at merchants like Hertz or Hyatt.
The only benefit that the personal card features compared to the business card is the ability to add additional users for $175 per card, and they receive all the benefits, like Global Entry reimbursement and the $200 airline fee reimbursement. It's $300 per card if you're a business card holder.
Both cards continue to offer one point per dollar on regular spending, access to Centurion lounges and Priority Pass membership, Global Entry reimbursement, complimentary Starwood Gold status, and purchase protection.
