Target Just Lowered Its Free Shipping Threshold to $25!
Frugal online shoppers rejoice: Target just cut their free shipping threshold in half!
Beginning today, the minimum total you must spend to qualify for free shipping dropped from $50 to $25.
“Lowering the free shipping threshold from $50 to $25 is one more way Target is putting guests first and making it easier for them to shop Target when and where they want,” said Jason Goldberger, president of Target.com and Mobile. “We saw an enthusiastic response to our free shipping offer over the holidays. Now, whether guests are stocking up or doing fill-in shopping, we’ve enhanced our year-round shipping offer to be one of the best in all of retail.”
This is more than just a great move for Target shoppers, though. A minimum spend of $25 makes it clear that Target has Amazon and Walmart in its crosshairs, beating both of those retailers' own free shipping minimums in a single bold move.
How much do you have to spend to get free shipping?

(Amazon does offer free 2-day shipping on many items for Amazon Prime subscribers, but the program runs $99 annually.)
Of course, free shipping is nothing new to REDcard holders, who enjoy free shipping on most purchases along with an extra 5% off everything. You can check out all of Target's current shipping options here.
