About Bass Pro Shops

In 1971, Bass Pro Shop got its start when a young fisher, Johnny Morris, was frustrated with the lack of tackle available in local stores. He rented a U-Haul and drove across the US collecting the newest and more premium fishing tackle he could find. He came back to Missouri and began selling his findings in his father's liquor store, and it became a popular stop for fishers headed to the Ozarks. His company began to grow and took off when he introduced the first Bass Tracker boat "package," which included a rigged boat, motor, and a fish-ready trailer. Bass Pro Shop has since grown to sell fishing equipment, hunting and & camping equipment, and much more.
