In 2023, Mother’s Day spending in the United States reached an all-time high of 35 billion dollars, which was up nearly 4 billion dollars from the year before. That makes Mother’s Day the third-largest retail spending holiday, right behind Black Friday and the back-to-school shopping season. It’s no secret: We love our moms! They’ve raised us, they’ve been our shoulder to cry on, but they’re also notoriously difficult to shop for.

Here at Brad’s Deals, we know not all moms are the same. We have four mom-editors on our staff, each one with very different interests and Mother’s Day wish lists. In this article, you’ll get to meet all of them from Julie, our go-getting sporty mom, to Melissa, our chilled-out funky mom. They’ve all shared their ideal gifts with us to give you some inspiration for finding that perfect gift for your own mom!

Julie - Sporty Mom

Meet Julie, our resident sporty mom. She is always on-the-go and lives for a great sweat session. She’s officially lost count of how many lululemon Aligns she’s collected, but she definitely wouldn’t be upset over receiving another pair. Her Peloton is her happy place and she loves lacing up her Hokas for marathon training as the weather warms up. She’s always on the lookout for clothes that can go from a workout class to school pickup while still making her feel put together.

Sporty Mom Gift Ideas:

  • Logging all those miles in marathon training has taken quite the toll on her Hokas. She’d love a pair of the new Hoka Bondi 8 shoes, which are designed for distance running.

  • Since she’s always on-the-go, a membership to an at-home workout program like Bodi would be a great idea to add some strength training variety to her usual Peloton routine.

  • Activewear and athleisure make up the basis of her wardrobe. She loves looks from lululemon that allow her to be comfortable but also look put together. Right now she’s eyeing a new lululemon Define Jacket in a pretty pastel lilac shade for her chilly morning runs.

  • With marathon training gearing up this summer, a meal subscription service like Factor would be a total lifesaver. These meals can be specifically designed to be high protein or low carb, so she can choose the best fuel for her workouts.

Melissa - Funky Mom

Next up, let’s introduce you to Melissa. She’s our chilled-out funky mom who totally marches to the beat of her own drum. She feels most alive when she’s out tending to her garden or crafting in her studio. She loves Anthropologie for their funky apparel and interior decor pieces. Her backyard could definitely use some new patio furniture and she’ll never turn down a new plant from her favorite brand, Costa Farm House Plants

Funky Mom Gift Ideas:

  • She is an unashamed plant lady, and right now she’s looking to add a new tree to her collection. Don’t tell her, but we’ve noticed that her internet browser always seems to be stuck on the FastGrowingTrees website.

  • She would adore some unique features to add to her already impressive garden. Right now she’s eyeing this 4-Tier LED Outdoor Fountain or a new unique garden statue

  • All that gardening has taken a toll on her Crocs, so she’s definitely due for a new pair. She loves funky designs like these Classic Geometric Clogs in Iridescent Lilac.

  • We’ve heard her talking about wanting a new pair of Birkenstock sandals, but she can’t seem to justify paying full price. She’s keeping an eye on the flash sales at Rue La La and Gilt to find the best discounts. We can often find popular styles from $72!

Marisa - Traditional Mom

Our editor Marisa is our near-and-dear traditional mom. Nothing gives her more joy than quality time with her kids, but she rarely takes the time for herself. She loves sentimental gifts like custom canvas prints, and she can never have enough candles. She’s a totally classic lady and we love her for it! The way to her heart? Chocolate, flowers… and diamonds, of course!

Traditional Mom Gift Ideas:

  • This lady loves sweets! Whether it’s a classic Godiva assortment or a specialized order from Cheryl’s cookies, she would be more than happy to receive a treat that's (nearly) as sweet as she is.

  • A bouquet of flowers always makes her feel loved and appreciated. We know a farm-fresh flower arrangement from The Bouqs would make her Mother’s Day super special.

  • She loves being a mom, but sometimes all that mothering can be hard work! A gift set from The Honest Company or Philosophy would encourage her to indulge in some much-needed self care.

  • Did we mention she adores diamonds? She’d be over the moon to receive any of this fine jewelry from Macy’s to add a little glamor to her everyday routine.

Lindsay - Bougie Mom

Last, but most definitely not least, is Lindsay. She is our resident fashionista who we lovingly call our bougie mom. She loves the finer things in life like high-end makeup from YSL and Tom Ford or skincare from La Mer or La Prairie. Her footwear of choice? Red bottoms of course! She’d never say no to another Stanley tumbler or a pair of oversized sunglasses

Bougie Mom Gift Ideas:

  • Lindsay loves herself some Christian Louboutins. Our insider tip for scoring deals on this rarely discounted brand is to keep an eye out for the flash sales at Rue La La and Gilt. You can often find these bougie kicks on sale for 15% off, plus an extra 10% if you shop through a Brad’s Deals link.

  • Her skincare routine is a minimum of 10 steps, and she’s always down to add another serum into the mix! Head over to Sephora to find all her favorite high-end essentials. Or, you can surprise her with a skincare fridge to help keep her products in tip-top condition.

  • Since hydration is essential to a good skincare routine, she’s also developed a designer water bottle habit. She would love a new Stanley Quencher in a summer shade like neon pink or orange.

  • She is fashion-forward, but since she works for Brad’s Deals she knows how to find quality pieces on sale. She buys all her Louis Vuitton bags from Rue La La or Gilt, and she looks to brands like Quince to grab cashmere sweaters for a fraction of the price of higher-end brands.

Whether your mom is bougie like Lindsay or sporty like Julie, you can be sure that the thing they will value the most this Mother’s Day is some quality time with you! Gifts are great and all, but nothing can compare to time with the ones they love the most. But if you are looking to spoil them, you know we’ll be on the lookout to help you find the best deals on gifts they’ll love.
