The Park Hyatt Paris
The single most generous deal in the hotel industry is here again. Hyatt’s Big Welcome Back is the 2010 version of the promo Hyatt has offered via their free Gold Passport reward program once a year since 2002. Through 6/30, every two stays at any Hyatt get you one free night at any Hyatt through 8/31. Since there are 7 levels of Hyatt, that means two $50 nights at your local Hyatt Place or Hyatt turn into one free $1,000+ night at the Park Hyatt in Paris, Sydney or Tokyo or great domestic locations like Chicago, DC, Beaver Creek or Kauai.
Plus, you can buy $100 Hyatt Gift Certificates at Costco for $79.99 so your $50 room is really $40 after the 20% discount. Call your local Costco and check for item #485271 to ask for availability.
It gets even better: you can combine the free Hyatt nights with great airline mile bonuses. The best is Register here for the 25,000 bonus. You’ll also get an additional 500 each per stay.
An alternative is to register for this United promo for 2,500 per stay.
Better still: chalk up 25 stays and, in addition to 12.5 free nights and a boatload of miles, you’ll become a Hyatt Gold Passport Diamond Member. That means suite upgrades, free breakfast (they’re great and worth over $100 for two at some locations), free internet and other extra goodies.
Don’t want to actually waste your nights staying at Hyatt Place? Don’t worry about it. They all have kiosks. Just walk into the lobby kiosk, check-in, then turn around and go back home. You’ll still get your nights and miles.
Note that many Hyatt rates are lowest on weekends and that two stays on consecutive nights at the same property will only count as one stay.
The bottom-line: for about $500 and a little time, a couple who went and checked in for 6 stays each at a Hyatt Place would get about 60k total frequent flyer miles plus 6 total free nights at any Park Hyatt in the world. Used wisely, that’s worth over $10,000!
PS: I’ve used this myself. It really works. I’ll be reporting back with a trip review shortly!
PPS: Yes, I’m sorry for the delay posting this. There’s still two weeks so try and make the most of it!

Seems like a great deal, but I don’t know where you find the $50 rooms? I searched in So. Cal. and the cheapest I could find was ~$114 a night.
Weekends tend to be best. There were several options in Chicago this past weekend around $50. Of course, always select the AAA rate (even if you’re not a member). Also, special offer code COSTCO may help.
For example, this is $59 on Friday in Chicago: http://chicagoitasca.place.hyatt.com
One tip is that if you select a long timeframe they will display the prices PER NIGHT so you can then cherry pick the best ones.
Prices do change quite a bit based on supply/demand. Most reservations are pretty generous with cancellation.
I took a look at LA and the pricing is not currently as good but this one gets down to $84: http://ontariomills.place.hyatt.com
You suggested always selecting the AAA rate even if you’re not a member. How do you get around the hotel reception asking for membership ID at check-in?
If you check in via a kiosk it never comes up.
To be honest, even at reception it is rarely mentioned.
Great Deal.
This sounds great! Just to understand clearly, I have to stay at the hotel by the end of this month? And the 6 stays are per night? Also, do the 6 stays need to be completed by the end of this month? Thank for any help, I want to make sure I am doing this deal right!
Hi Darlene, yes to the stays being completed by the end of the month. No to 6 stays per night – it is one free night for every two stays. Also, as mentioned, you don’t *really* need to stay there on account of the kiosks, etc.
Is this deal good for top suites at $4000.00 per night
The free nights book at their standard room but if you’re a Diamond member you will likely get upgraded to the best available room. Platinum might help there too.
We only travel with deals. This is the way to go!
Thanks for all the work you do to bring us the BEST way of getting a SUPER deal!!
Hi. I am having trouble finding any open rooms less than $125 per night around the seven fields/pittsburgh PA area. I would like to be able to get this deal in time. Can you help? Thank you!
Hi Tanya, unfortunately there isn’t too much time left on this one so it’s harder to cherry pick from a wide range of nights. I’m optimistic that they’ll bring something like this back at year-end and, if so, I’ll keep you posted.
Hey, interesting blog post. Just found your blog and I will bookmark it – keep up the good work.

Hey Brad
Do you know if this deal with Hyatt was active this past June. Just wondering whether I should watch for it and when.
thanks for any help. You are doing a great job, I love your site
Joan
Hi Joan, hyatt ran a deal earlier this year but it was nowhere near this good. Rest assured, when they do this again I will call a lot of attention to it!

Is there a program like this running now? I just caught this blog–creative and interesting. I am a couponer and I know policies tend to change over time, are they now doing anything to make the international travel harder to earn thru the awards program?
