Breaking news! Kids are expensive!! Okay, not so breaking news, but it’s true. The average family spends up to $1,280 per year on kids’ clothing! So how do you get the most bang for that buck? Where do you shop for good deals on kids’ clothing? We’ve rounded up a few of the best places to purchase kids’ clothes online.

I personally like to stock up on my kids’ clothes a few times a year. I’ll make a list with their upcoming sizes (and seasonality for those sizes) and stock up during a big sale. You can never go wrong with waiting for Black Friday and Cyber Monday, but many of these stores offer great coupons and sales throughout the rest of the year!

Target

Cat & Jack is Target's exclusive kids’ line. You can find everyday kids clothing deals on tees from $4, leggings from $5, and dresses and jeans from $8. Cat & Jack is my go-to for winter boots and accessories. Even better, the clothes are guaranteed for one year, as long as you hang on to your receipt.

Gap

I love the Gap for cute prints and fun patterns without being too childish. As kids grow, striking the balance between cutesy and boring can be rough. But my favorite part of shopping at the Gap is all the promotions. Their Friends and Family, Black Friday, and Cyber Monday sales provide discounts of up to 70% off!

Old Navy

Owned by the same company as The Gap, Old Navy offers more everyday affordable prices, but they too are a great place to find extra discounts. You can even toggle between the two stores and checkout from both with one cart online. I love stocking up on leggings and sock bundles for everyday basics.

Primary

If your kids like color, Primary is for you. They make all clothes in all colors for all kids. I love their pajamas, they even have them for adults if you’re into family matching! New customers can always save 20%, and they have frequent promotions (right now it’s 25% off sitewide). You’ll get free shipping with $75, so it's good to stock up and save.

Carter’s

Carter’s is one of the best places to find affordable baby clothes. I love it for onesies, since you can go through a lot of them. There is almost always a sale on their website (as much as 75% off), so wait for a deal to buy and you’ll be able to pick up items for as low as $2!

Kohl’s

If you time your shopping correctly, Kohl’s is a great place to save. They often have sales of up to 50% off, plus stackable coupons like an additional 20% off. Earn or spend Kohl’s Cash and you can get some really great deals on brands like Nike, Adidas, Carter’s, and more. Their Black Friday and Cyber Monday sales are stellar – a great opportunity to stock up on all your essentials.

Hanna Andersson

They are known for their fun patterns and bright colors. Their pajamas are awesome – super soft, eczema-friendly, and designed to be like-new even after washing. You can’t go wrong with Hanna Andersson pajamas - and they have them for the whole family! We often see 40-50% discounts, so you’ll want to wait for a promotion to buy.

The Children’s Place

Like Carter’s, The Children’s Place has some extreme discounts! Like up to 70% off PLUS an extra 20% off extreme! Their uniform shop also packages bundles of polos and pants - a great way to save on basics even if your kids don’t wear uniforms.

Macy’s

If you wait for a coupon, you can get some pretty good deals on kids’ clothing. I like that Macy’s has a wide variety of brands from low to high end. Their own First Impressions line has a lot of designer-inspired pieces at affordable prices.

Amazon

We couldn’t leave Amazon off this list! You can buy name brands like The North Face and UGG, but don’t sleep on the Amazon Essentials (and other smaller) brands! Returns are super easy if you don’t get the right item, and their “try before you buy” program lets you do just that!
