We shop for the best Halloween deals every year. Our team evaluates popular decorations and candy, comparing prices and reliable brands. Here are a few of our favorite finds so far this season.

Where to Find Halloween Deals this Season

So where do we shop for our favorite deals? Take a look at a few of our favorite stores. We'll show you how we shop for the most popular styles. . . scary, strange, or silly! Those looking for a deeper dive can check out our favorite indoor and outdoor Halloween Decorations this year.

Halloween Deals at Target

Target deserves your attention for low-cost Halloween decorations at home. Availability of specific decorations changes every year, but we always expect to see innovative new offerings for not-super-scary styles. This year, their inexpensive animatronic Halloween decorations should be especially popular.

Halloween Costume Deals

We also love Target's Halloween costumes. Even before you count the 5% back from the Target RedCard, we found tons of eye-catching prices on new looks. Check out this Dinosaur mask, which sells for $20. Similar masks sell for $30-$40 at Halloween pop-up stores.

Or shop Etsy for high-quality, handmade costumes for kids and adults. This gives you a way to support local makers, and we found many popular characters–including Elsa costumes–and personalized Halloween apparel for adults. Just confirm order and ship times to make sure everything arrives well in advance of Halloween.

We also loved what we found at Little Adventures. They sell adorable kids' Halloween costumes including princess dresses, superhero capes, and Disney villain costumes! Plus, their costumes feature machine-washable fabrics. That means kids can use them well after Halloween for dress-up play!

Halloween Deals on Amazon and The Home Depot

We always expect to see deals on Halloween candy at Amazon. These come back every year, and they often have the lowest price-per-item of anywhere we found online. . . at least for popular candies like Snickers, Skittles, and Sour Patch Kids.

Home Depot earned enormous cache as a purveyor of Halloween supplies when they debuted their supremely popular 12' skeleton. This towering monstrosity sold out quickly the first year, then almost immediately again in 2021 and 2022. Home haunters gravitate toward these enormous Halloween decorations because of their unlikely size (despite a $299 price tag!).

While the infamous giant skeleton decoration remains sold out, we found these animatronic pumpkin twin decorations as a 3' alternative. They sell for only $89.98 for the pair. We also found another giant Halloween decoration worth checking out at The Home Depot. This 12' animatronic witch sells for the same price as the enormous skeleton. It turns its head, moves its jaw, and uses an old magician's trick to appear to float over its oversized broom.

Should You Buy or Build Your Own Halloween Decorations?

Our favorite home haunters build their own Halloween decorations. The process takes ingenuity, creativity, and tenacity. With that in mind, not everyone has time for a DIY home haunt. If you're looking for deals on Halloween decor, we won't judge you for choosing a premade option. But, if you're inspired to create your own seasonal decorations this year, we'd love to help.

DIY Halloween Decorations at Michaels and Joann

Michaels stores regularly earn business from early Halloween shoppers, and not only because they update their inventory with new stock every year. We also see deals on haunt-worthy crafting supplies as early as August.

Like Michaels, Joann provides a wide selection of Halloween crafting supplies to do-it-yourselfers. Our recommendation for getting the best deal on DIY Halloween decorations at these two stores? Sign up for their newsletters and wait for your favorite supplies to go on sale. We see rotating discounts on different products throughout the haunting season.

DIY Halloween Decorations Elsewhere

When you want to build something bigger, you may want to visit a home-supply store like Lowe's or Home Depot for the best DIY Halloween haunt supplies. Frugal-minded shoppers should also consider zero-waste options. Sites like Freecycle and Facebook Marketplace remain valuable assets for those willing to put in a little extra effort on pickup and assembly.
