It’s not new news that Amazon announced its Prime Early Access Sale as a fall followup to July’s Prime Day this year. Sales have kicked off and continue through October 12. We expect to see deals on their devices like Kindle, Fire TV, Alexa, and Echo devices. Plus, they recently bought iRobot, so keep an eye out for Roomba deals, too!

We expect to see hundreds of other retailers sharing sales and deals throughout the next week to compete with Amazon and, for us, this marks the start of the holiday shopping season! Some of these sales will have prices that beat Black Friday pricing, so we recommend you start your shopping now. And don’t forget: good deals go fast. Price changes and sell outs are out of our control so don't wait on deals you love.

We already know we’ll see competing sales from Target, Walmart, and Best Buy, but what can you expect from other holiday kickoff sales this week? Here are our predictions for who will have great deals.

Apparel

You can also expect to see some great sales from apparel retailers stores. We predict you’ll see some of the best discounts of the season on apparel from these stores. We’ll likely see great sitewide deals at Old Navy, Gap, and J. Crew. Plus check for stellar deals and markdowns at Macy’s and Sperry. Kohl’s will likely have sitewide coupons to stack on top of sales making them a top contender as well.

Electronics

Best Buy is a top competitor when it comes to offering big name electronics on sale for the holidays. Target is another store to watch. But you should also keep an eye on the following brands. Their direct brand sites offer great deals to compete with Amazon’s, and even Best Buy and Target’s, pricing.

Toys

GameStop will have another Pro Days sale for its members. Back in June this sale offered up discounts of 10% to 25% off pre-owned game consoles, including PlayStation 4 and Switch consoles. New games will likely be up to 50% off and we may see a gift card offer with the purchase of a new console.

Through 10/8, Target offers $50 off and a free controller when you buy an XBox Series S console as well as 50% off select toys. With this being the start of holiday shopping season, we can also expect more great toy deals at Amazon, and Walmart. These retailers also recently released their toy books and we know they’ll have some great deals on this year’s hottest toys.

Home Goods and Essentials

We’ve see some excellent competing sales from Wayfair, Dyson, and Macy’s in the past and this time around will be no different. Wayfair has 5 Days of Deals, which runs October 7 through October 11 with markdowns of up to 80% on furniture and home decor.

Macy’s sale is currently on and offers 10% to 60% off everything. Some of their most popular bedding sets are now 60% off and just $30 in any size. Select items qualify for an additional 15% off coupon.

Chewy, one of our favorite places to buy for pets online, is offering a $30 gift card when you spend $100. This is an excellent way to get rewarded for necessities you'd be buying anyway!
