We recently discussed a rumor that Amazon might announce a fall shopping event to kickstart the holiday shopping season. Today, they made it official. The Prime Early Access Sale happens October 11th-12th, 2022.

What to Expect from Prime Day: Fall Edition

Shoppers want to know what to expect from Amazon's second major shopping event this year. So we asked our experts to weigh in. We already discussed the best Prime Day deals we see every year and compared Prime Day to Black Friday 2022. So let's dig into the new Prime Early Access sale.

Deals on Holiday Gifts

This year, we expect to see a major focus on giftable items. Amazon always offers strong toy deals. We plan to watch out for board games, Nerf products, STEM toys, Lego sets, and dolls. As the official start to the holiday shopping season, we also expect more deals on holiday decor and gifts for adults. Check out Amazon's toy gift guide for more holiday gift ideas.

A Curated Top 100 List

Amazon announced something totally new for this sale. Via their press release, we confirmed the sale will include a curated list of 100 products from major brands such as KitchenAid, Hasbro, and iRobot.

Free Amazon Music

Prime members who never signed up for Amazon Music can now get four months of the music membership for free. And there's good news for non-Prime members too. They can sign up for a three-month trial of Amazon Music for free.

In addition to a listener's membership, Prime members may choose to purchase a third-generation Echo Dot for $0.99 when they get a one-month subscription of the Unlimited music service. These Amazon Music offers run from 9/26 through 10/12.

One-Year Grubhub+ Membership

Grubhub+ Memberships usually cost $9.99 per month and offer $0 delivery fees on orders over $12, but new Prime members get a full year of the membership for free. This was already something Amazon offered, but the benefit will be highlighted for new members during the sale.

Deals on Amazon Products

It wouldn't be a Prime sale without best-of-year pricing on Amazon products. That means you'll find some of the store's strongest offers on its own brands. We specifically expect discounts on Fire TVs, Ring doorbell cameras, and Amazon fitness bands.

This year, Amazon also took over another well-loved household brand: iRobot vacuums. These smart home products haven't been a primary focus on past Prime Days, but we expect to see stellar discounts moving forward.

As with any Prime Day sale, be sure to check the Amazon Video section for additional discounts. We've written about these often-overlooked digital deals in the past. We found up to 50% off video purchase and rental offers starting 9/30 and run through 10/7.

Deals on Everything Else

Amazon always highlights its own brands with front-and-center displays during this two-day event, but we know other national brands intend to offer major discounts as well. Our team will scour the Prime Early Access sale as soon as offers become available, and we'll post them throughout the event.

Looking for more discounts? We also wrote about Prime-worthy deals you won't find on Amazon. For example, we expect sales from places like Walmart, Macy's, and Kohl's to overlap with Prime Day.
