We’ve heard consistently from Brad’s Deals shoppers that you need more deals on everyday essentials. Our team of experts has been searching daily to find you the best deals on cleaning products, paper products, and other necessities. One reliable way to save during inflation is to swap to some generic paper products that offer the same, or nearly the same, quality at a much more affordable price.

Toilet Paper

Likely the most controversial category on our list, you can find high-quality, store-brand toilet paper! It costs less than the name brand and still does the job. Both Member’s Mark from Sam’s Club and Kirkland’s from Costco get high marks from customers for being strong, soft, and affordable. Don’t have a membership at either store? Aldi’s Willow Soft & Strong is a solid option, though it will come in smaller packs.

Paper Towels

For die-hard brand fans, paper towels are a hard thing to swap. But Amazon’s Presto! paper towels rank high for absorbency and strength. Per 100 sheets, it is $0.53 less than Bounty on average. And though not technically generic, Sparkle brand paper towel, on average, costs $0.77 less than Bounty per 100 sheets and gets rave reviews for absorbency and value.

Disposable Diapers

A big cost reducer, generic diapers can save parents hundreds of dollars every year. Taking into account that many parents have strong feelings about diaper materials and ingredients, we understand that swapping for a cheaper brand might not be right for you. And that’s okay!

But if you want to save on diapers and try an affordable store-brand option, Kirkland’s at Costco makes our list again. These diapers are made by the same company that makes Huggies, Kimberly-Clark, and are $0.20-$0.37 less per diaper. Keep in mind that you also have to factor in a Costco membership if you don’t already have one. Not looking to join a club? Amazon offers their brand of Mama Bear diapers for a comparable $0.15-$0.37 per diaper. They have excellent reviews and are free from chlorine bleaching, perfumes, lotions, parabens, and phthalates.

Aluminum Foil

Along with McCormick spices and Birds Eye vegetables, Reynolds, the renowned aluminum foil maker, is known for producing store-brand tin foil. So shop your local store brand with confidence knowing you’re likely getting the same thing with a lower price tag.

Facial Tissues

While not the biggest cost saver on our list, buying store-brand facial tissues can save you in the long run. Target’s Up & Up Facial Tissues get high marks on softness and strength when used on runny noses. For just $0.01 per tissue and around $1.69 per box, they are an affordable option for those looking to save.

Plus, Target Circle members get 1% back and they often run gift card offers when you spend a certain amount on essentials and other categories. Red Card holders also get an additional 5% off all orders.
